A street in Spain, literally millions of lights, so what's the story? Las Fallas is a traditional celebration, held annually in commemoration of Saint Joseph, in the city of Valencia, Spain. The term Fallas refers to both the celebration and the monuments burnt during the celebration. I was aware of Las Fallas but had never visited. However one year I read of a potentially interesting part of the celebrations, a competition to find the best illuminated street. Now that sounds

First a couple of clarifications! One, this is not one of my most technically excellent shots. Two, I am not religious! However, I have chosen to write about this photograph because I was emotionally moved by the event. So let's provide the background. Easter is Spain in big! I submitted this to Getty Images for commercial use back in 2011, and since then a license to use it has been obtained many times since. It has featured in daily newspapers across the world, on travel websites, in corporate brochures and other online articles. It's had a lot of visibility! So a little about the photograph. It was taken on the main promenade of the Spanish

Have you ever gone that extra mile to take a photograph? Well I did, I went 100 miles (160km for my European friends!) to take the above shot. This shot of the Museu de les Ciències in Valencia was taken quite deliberately in 2013. I'd moved to Spain in 2009, living in the beautiful coastal city of Alicante. Alicante is in the Autonomous Community of Valencia, so it was just a matter of time before I visited the Community's capital city. My first trip was in 2010 and I immedi
